Tired

It kinda sucks to have 3 morning lessons in a row. Lesson learnt. Never bid for morning classes unless absolutely necessary. Fortunately, I only have one lesson a day this semester. Unfortunately, since training starts at 7pm, I have between 12 and 7pm to ‘mug’. I’m no mugger, no matter how hard I try. I wish I could but I just can’t. People mug till they’re stressed, but I’m stressed because I can’t mug! NOOOOO 😦

I got back from training really late.

A cute illustration of Crossfit! I think my favourite is still the kettlebell swings and tyre flips!

I can flip huge ass tyres too!

Yup! That’s me doing some push ups! 🙂

Handstands!

Good news is that the Muay Thai clinics ended today. Means proper training for us seniors. I got trained by Terence today and it was simply… AMAZING! It feels great to finally push myself so hard again. I wanna keep training harder. I miss the feeling of soreness and fatigue associated with a good, challenging workout. It keeps me going and it makes me feel so alive!

I love this. So true.

It’s 2.18am. I’ve got Management of People at Work (MPW) at 3.30pm. Phew, at least I get to sleep in! SMU life is hectic, but I’m blessed to be able to study here!

Love,

Maddie

Review: Whimsical Wants skorts (Collection 7)

Yesterday was an entire day out Mummy. We were at Vivocity buying… Mooncakes! All $900 worth of them! (: Can’t wait to indulge in them. The family will be coming over later for dinner followed by mooncakes and tea. Gotta work out twice as hard after!

Now it’s time for another review (:

Another must-have piece from Whimsical Wants that I simply adore. My first pair of skorts! ❤

I wore this ensemble to school just the other day and Cindy said “Someone’s looking pretty today!”.

I love the colour of the skorts. Striking, bold. I usually keep to the conventional denim shorts, black or dark denim, black leggings… In other words, lots of dark colours, which is frankly kind of boring! I decided to pair it with this navy blue top I bought from Bangkok for a contrast, and I think it looks great!

It comes with cute, little buttons all the way down and is elasticized at the back so it would fit most sizes. I also think skorts are perfect because they can be short, but they don’t billow up in the wind, and you can go up escalators without worrying about someone ‘upskirting’ you! For me, the occasional tomboy, that means being able to sit in a less ladylike manner (because we all know that crossing our legs can be tiring too!) 😀

This piece is actually a Topshop-inspired one. So it’s definitely a steal!

Love Whimsical Wants! ❤

Week 2, Down!

After such a long holiday which lasted 4 months this summer, it’s kind of hard to start adapting back to university life. SMU is really mad. Everything is hectic, and after last semester’s straight Bs (which really sucks by the way!), I’ve got no time to lose this semester. It’s 3am and I’m up doing my readings. I’m going to be ever ready for class! Year 2, I shall conquer you!

In the first 2 weeks of school, I’ve dedicated lots of my time to SMU Muay Thai with Vivace -our CCA exhibition day- as well as our Muay Thai clinic, which we just extended into its second week! We had over 170 sign ups last Friday. How awesome is that? (:

Here’s the week (or two!) in photos:

Demo padwork with Jin at Vivace. No easy job (though I’m smiling!).

My girls ❤ They’re both so pretty! (:

Cindy and I.

Doing up the club board.

Group Leader-ing for SMUX Nitebike 2011. 11 hours, 63km.

It’s been an eventful couple of weeks. Never a dull day for me!

Week 2, Down!

Review: Jaylyn (Whimsical Wants – Collection 5)

Whimsical Wants’ Collection 5: Frolicking Good will be launching at 11am. I am excited! I think our photoshoot turned out pretty good and I’m looking forward to the next one already 😀

Here’s one of the must-gets for the upcoming collection.

Jaylyn (Collection 5)

I seem to be wearing more and more bright colours lately! This lovely coral pink halter top is perfect for casual days out, at the same time beating the sweltering Singapore weather. It goes great with shorts or jeans. I, for one, am a shorts girl because shorts and comfortable and it keeps me cool. But I would wear this top with jeans for a dinner date.
I love the halter design too and how its ruched a little at the bust to give that flattering ‘illusion’, if you know what I mean (hehe). Halters are a great option because they flatter your shoulders and you don’t have to worry about them slipping down like some tube tops do. I give this top… 2 thumbs up! 😀

Review: Whimsical Wants (Collection 3)

Hi everyone! I’ve just moved from my Blogspot – which I’ve neglected for many months – to WordPress (: How did I come up with the name MaryMaddieRose? It’s the combination of my grandma’s, mine and my mummy’s names!

The past holiday has been an eventful one. I’ve worked hard, trained hard, and have met a whole bunch of wonderful people! School’s about to start in 4 days time. I’m going to enjoy the remaining few days of ‘freedom’ before the stress comes piling on again!

Over this holiday, I’ve had the great privilege of doing some modeling on and off, and I must say that it’s been a great experience, and I’ve learnt to be so much more comfortable in front of the camera. Posing can be awkward at times, especially when you have only a second to think of your next one.

Just last week, I had a shoot with Whimsical Wants and I absolutely love working with them! (: Everyone’s friendly and having fun. I must say that I am absolutely in love with all the clothes, I wish I could have them all. But let’s not be greedy, shall we?

Here are the pieces that I simply adore!

Delilah (Collection 3)

The grecian look is a timeless one, it never goes out of style. At least not for me! I saw this same design selling on other blogshops and was already so tempted to get it. So when I saw this, I just had to have it! Delilah is made out of thick, good quality cotton and is smooth to the touch. The gold braided neckline is classy and flatters the neckline. I love the way the fabric drapes too. Simply cinch the waist with the matching gold ribbon tie to show off your teeny weeny waist and you’re all ready to go!

Kelly (Collection 3)

Mustard has never been the colour for me. This is the first mustard top I own. So I was pleasantly surprised that Kelly actually looked pretty good on me! (: A casual top for school, easy to match with any bottoms. I tried it on many ways (as you can see!) and I think I like the shorts/bandage skirt look best. The top is actually pretty long, so it’s hard to tuck it into shorts, but a bandage skirt is able to hold onto it quite securely, so no worries there! I love the back of this top! The pleats offer such great detail. I wore this to school with my denim shorts, but I was sure to wear an inner tube as it’s sheer chiffon and I’m sure most of us don’t welcome unwanted staring!
